Living room wall murals for a feature wall

The living room is where a wall mural has the biggest impact. One large design behind the sofa, the TV or the dining table becomes the focal point of the space and sets the mood for the whole interior. Because every Lipastick mural is printed to the exact size of your wall, the composition fits perfectly from corner to corner.

Styles that work in a living room

• Landscapes and forests: misty mountains and trees add depth and make a small room feel bigger.
• Floral and tropical murals: oversized blooms and leaves for a fresh, natural look.
• Abstract murals: soft shapes and brushstrokes for modern and Japandi interiors.
• Marble and textured murals: stone, concrete and limewash effects for a calm, elegant backdrop.
• 3D murals and geometric designs: bold patterns for a contemporary statement.

How to choose the right mural

Start with the colors of your furniture and floor. Neutral beige, cream and taupe designs pair with almost everything and keep the room light. Deep greens, blues and dark florals create a cozy, dramatic atmosphere in a larger room. A wide landscape visually extends a narrow room, while a vertical design such as trees or hanging flowers makes a low ceiling feel higher.

Material and installation

For a living room we usually recommend non-woven wallpaper: Premium for a canvas, painted look or Standard for an embossed texture with a subtle shimmer. You apply the paste to the wall, not the panels, and hang the dry panels one by one. See our installation guide and compare textures on the materials page. Not sure about the colors? Order a sample set first.
